Norwegian University for Science and Technology

The Norwegian University of Sciences and Technology, NTNU, is the national technical university and second largest university in Norway. It hosts 22,000 students and participates in 80 FP7 projects. The Industrial Ecology programme (IndEcol) has 25 Ph.D. students, 7 PostDocs, 2 senior researchers and 10 faculty members (two of which are lead authors on the IPCC reports). IndEcol has extensive experience on research connecting technological assessments with macro-scale impacts. The institute is also a global leader in the field of environmentally extended input-output analysis, including consumption based modelling, Life Cycle Assessment, with particular focus on novel energy technologies and offshore facilities.

NTNU was one of the leaders of EU FP6 project EXIOPOL, and work flow leaders of FP7 projects CREEA, DESIRE, OPEN-EU, PROSUITE and contributed to reports of UNEP Panel for Sustainable Resource Management and Global Energy Assessment.
